Golden Almond Toffee

3/4 pound (1 1/2 cups) fresh butter
1 pound blanched chopped almonds
2 cups sugar
Dipping chocolate
Sliced almonds

Melt butter and boil with sugar 5 minutes without stirring in a large skillet.  Add almonds.  Stirring constantly, cook to hard crack stage or 300 degrees.  Pour into a square buttered pan, when almost hard, melt dipping chocolate and spread over toffee.  Top with sliced almonds.  Break into pieces.

Makes 2 dozen pieces.
