Pecan Pie

3 eggs
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pastry shell, 8-inch, unbaked

Beat eggs until thick and fluffy.  Add syrup, sugar, salt, butter, pecans and vanilla.  Pour into pastry-lined pan.  Bake in 450 degree oven, 10 minutes.  Reduce heat to 350 degrees, and bake 45 minutes, or until a silver knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Yield: 1 9-inch pie
