About

Yard sales are always fun to poke through.  You can find some really interesting things (and some really odd stuff).  In the Gila Valley there would sometimes be Saturdays where it seemed the entire valley decided to have a yard sale.  Those days are the funnest.

During one such yard sale day I stopped at one or two while out running errands.  I wasn't planning on buying anything, but had to stop just for the fun of it.  And at one they had a nice pile of cookbooks that just called my name.  Most of the cookbooks were geared towards some diet or other, or I already had them.

But buried in all the books I found an old, worn binder full of old recipes some hand written some from a newspaper.  After double checking that it wasn't a family cook book accidentally put out I dug the change out of the depths of my diaper bag to buy it.

It has been fun thumbing through it.  I found an Ulcer Diet (mostly lots and lots of bread and milk).  Fun Christmas poem about a mom making a pie.  Pfeffernuesse, Tutti-Frutti Fudge, Ripe Plum Relish, very faded hand written 1942 postcard with a Chili Sauce recipe, and so very much more.

I haven't cooked anything from it, but it would make a fun adventure to try all these different dishes.

If you make anything from here please send me a picture and a review!
