Butterscotch Nut Loaf

2 cups sifted enriched flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cups chopped nuts
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons butter

Sift flour and measure.  Sift again with baking powder, salt and soda.  Add sugar and nuts.  Combine eggs, buttermilk and slightly cooled melted butter.  Add combined liquid ingredients to dry ingredients, mixing just enough to moisten.  Turn batter into greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees 1 hour.

Yield: 1 loaf
