Raisin Pumpkin Muffins

1/2 cup raisins
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup cooked pumpkin
1/2 cup dairy sour cream

Rinse and dry raisins; chop coarsely.  Sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl; cut in shortening.  Add all remaining ingredients and stir just until blended.  Spoon into greased muffin pans, about 1/2 full, and bake in a 400-degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes.  Serve hot. 

Makes 1 1/2 dozen muffins.
