Strawberry Glace Pie

1 (nine-inch) baked pastry shell
1 quart strawberries
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 1/2 Tablespoons cornstarch
Whipping cream

Line the baked and cooled pasty shell with washed and drained berries.  Reserve one cup berries for glaze.

Add three fourths cup of sugar and water to the one cup reserved berries and cook to a thick syrup.  Strain cooked fruit syrup.

Mix cornstarch thoroughly with remaining one fourth cup sugar and add to fruit syrup.  Cook again until syrup is clear and thick.  Cool syrup slightly and pour over berries in pastry shell.  When filling is cool, top pie with whipped cream.
