Peanut-Butter Bread

4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 cups creamy-style peanut butter
2 cups milk

Preheat oven to 350F.  Grease a 9-by-5-by-3-inch loaf pan.

Sift dry ingredients together into large mixing bowl.  With pastry blender or two knives, cut in peanut butter until mixture is like coarse corn meal.

Make well in center.  Pour in milk, and stir vigorously until completely mixed.  Pour into loaf pan; bake 50 minutes.  Cool in pan, on wire rack, 10 to 15 minutes.  Remove from pan, and cool thoroughly.

Makes 1 loaf.
