Pineapple Kuchen

Pineapple Kuchen

1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1 Tablespoon salad oil
1 1/3 cups drained pineapple chunks
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 Tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3 Tablespoons melted butter

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into mixing bowl.

Beat milk, egg and oil together in measuring cup.  Add to flour mixture, blending well.  Pour into greased 8-inch square pan.  Scatter drained pineapple chunks over batter.

Mix together the 1/2 cup sugar, 2 Tablespoons flour, cinnamon and nutmeg.  Sprinkle over pineapple chunks.  Drizzle melted butter over all.

Bake in hot oven, 425 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, or until cake is done.  Cut in squares and serve warm.
