Oven Apple Gingerbread
(Yield: 8 servings)
2 1/2 cups canned applesauce
1/2 cup sugar
Package of gingerbread mix
Grated orange rind
Whipped Cream
Combine applesauce and sugar. Heat to boiling. Remove from heat and pour into an 8- by 8-inch pan.
Prepare gingerbread batter according to package directions. Pour batter over applesauce.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
Whip cream and fold in grated orange rind. Serve over gingerbread.
