Apple Bread

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon double-acting baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
2 beaten eggs
1/4 cup melted shortening
2 tablespoons water
1 cup finely chopped, unpeeled apples
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla

Sift flour and measure.  Resift with salt, soda, baking powder and sugar into a mixing bowl.
Add beaten eggs, melted shortening, water, chopped unpeeled apples, chopped nuts and vanilla.  Mix all together just until well blended.

Bake in greased loaf pan in moderate oven, 350 degrees, for 45 minutes.
