Grandmother's Pumpkin Pie
Pastry for one-crust 9-inch pie
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 slightly beaten eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup cream
1/4 teaspoon Angostura aromatic bitters
1 1/2 cups cooked pumpkin
Line a 9-inch pan with pastry. combine sugar, salt and spices. Add slightly beaten eggs, milk, cream, bitters and pumpkin. Mix well. Pour into unbaked pastry shell and bake at 425 degrees 40 to 45 minutes, until inserted knife comes out clean.
Yield: 1 9-inch pie
