Cake Mix Used as Shortcut For Tea Bread
Burnt-sugar-cake mix provides a shortcut to pumpkin-nut tea bread.
To 1 (1-pound 3-ounce) package of cake mix add 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 cup cooked, mashed pumpkin and 1 packet burnt sugar syrup (included in the box) extended to 1/2 cup with water. Mix according to package directions, adding 3/4 cup chopped walnuts during last minute of mixing. Bake in preheated 325-degree oven for 45 minutes or until cake tests done. cool in pan before turning out on wire rack.
