Toll House Cookies
1 cup softened butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon water
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 package (12-ounce) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Cream together butter, sugar, vanilla and water. Beat in eggs. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Stir into butter mixture. Add nuts and semi-sweet chocolate pieces; mix well. Drop by well-rounded half teaspoonful on greased baking sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven 10 to 12 minutes.
Yields 8 dozen cookies.
