Orange-Loaf Bread
(Yield: 1 loaf 9 by 5 by 3 inches)
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons melted shortening
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons grated orange rind
1 cup wheat or corn flakes
Sift together dry ingredients. Combine beaten egg with milk and shortening; add to the dry ingredients; stir until blended.
Add the orange juice and rind and cereal flakes. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake in 350-degree oven for about one hour.
