Cocoa-Nut Kisses

1 1/2 medium Russet potatoes
2 teaspoon butter, melted
1 pound package of powdered sugar, sifted
2 1/2 tablespoons cocoa or 1 1/2 squares bitter chocolate
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dash of salt
1 packaged (6-7 ounce) moist coconut

Cook potatoes, drain and mash to remove all lumps; measure 2/3 cup.  While mashed potatoes are still hot, stir in melted butter.  Add sugar gradually and beat thoroughly.  Add cocoa or melted chocolate.  Beat well.  Add vanilla, salt and coconut.

Candy should hold its shape when dropped from a teaspoon on waxed paper.  If too moist, add more coconut.  Place in refrigerator for short time to harden. Keep in tightly covered container.
Yield about 50 pieces.

For "trick or treaters" wrap each piece of candy in Saran or aluminum foil.
