Apple Ambrosia

1 package gingerbread mix
1 1/2 cups cored, unpeeled Delicious apples
3/4 cup sliced bananas
1/3 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 pint whipping cream
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/3 cup toasted slivered almonds

Prepare and bake gingerbread mix, following the directions on the package.

Lightly toss together the cored, cubed apples, sliced bananas and confectioners' sugar.  Top squares of the gingerbread with the sweetened whipped cream.

Spoon the ambrosia mixture over the cream.  Sprinkle with toasted slivered almonds.

Yield: about 6 servings
